I do see quite often here (and the niche subs) of people saying that they don’t know what else to print, or some people that print a buncha benchies of the same colour (not sure why). May I suggest looking into some tabletop wargames? Between the miniatures and the terrain, you can print the basics to start playing within a week or two, and after that you can spend years printing everything possible.

Here are some ideas to look into:

  1. Bolt Action - WW2 game played at 28mm scale. Tons of big terrain, tanks, infantry. Great game to get started because of how easy it is.
  2. Chain of Command - WW2 game played at 15mm/28mm scale. I personally like it at 28mm because that would cover also Bolt Action and a few other 28mm games. More tactical then Bolt Action, but it rewards real world tactics. Imagine the houses that need to be printed, the roads, the rivers, the trees.
  3. Battlegroup - Final WW2 game that is played at 15mm on a 6x4 table to 10×6 table. Tons of houses of playing the Stalingard book. A crazy amount of customization.
  4. Grimdark Future - Imagine playing Warhammer, but it costs you pennies to print the miniatures, and it extra-extra-lite. The Firefight version of this game took us 25 minutes for shortest game, and standard Grimdark Future game takes 1-2hrs. But with bigger armies it can easily be 2+ hrs.
  5. Age of Fantasy - Same company as Grimdark Future, but instead of Sci-Fi theme, it’s fantasy theme. Also 28mm, however, I play it at 54mm. Big minis, tons of fun.
  6. Force on Force - Ultra modern wargame (Wars past 1990+) at 28mm. Super tactical, tons of cool terrain pieces needed to be made.
  7. Frostgrave - 28mm Co-op/Solo/Versus game. You’re a wizard that needs to hire a band of mercenaries and fight your enemy. Plus, random monsters pop up. This game requires tooonnsssss of terrain.
  8. Lasting Tales - Same terrain as Frostgrave, but imagine playing nonestop combat phase of Dungeons & Dragons without a DM. Amazing game. Stunning book.
  9. Ranges of the Shadowdeep - Same creator as Frostgrave. A co-op/Solo miniature game that has won tons of awards.

I think this is a good start for you to explore. There are hundreds of wargames. Want to play as caveman hunting mammoths? Or be stuck in Jurrasic Park killing Dinosaurers? Customizing your fleet of cars in apoloclyptic setting? Space sheep battles, fleet battles, airplane battles, robot battles, pirate battles. You name it, and I’m sure something is available.

Anyways, give it a thought. It’s a cool hobby, and you’re printing with purpose.
