Whenever I see a discussion where Bambu Lab is mentioned, it isn’t long before one of the comments is, “But, but, but… open source!”
I don’t get it.
Your homes are probably full of proprietary stuff. I would hazard a guess that your phone, oven, dishwasher, car, motorcycle, printer (non-3D), are all using proprietary software and components, but no one complains about that.
Why is it when it comes to 3D printers, this is a hill some people are willing to die on?
Honestly not trying to start a fight, just don’t understand the almost religious fervor that I see when it comes to open source printers.
Disclaimer: I was a software developer/architect for over 35 years. I understand what open source is, why it exists, and why it’s beneficial. But I also don’t turn down commercial software when it solves the problem.
