But I can’t decide why he quit his job. He’s not being very smart about quitting his job just to bring Jasmine to Michigan. Even if she hates being home alone, he has to work. The only smart people who kept their jobs when their spouse moved up here is a long list but the only person I can think of is Bilal because being a real estate agent in his market is a really good job and I think real estate agents are very well off.

Any health insurance is damn expensive. Getting a good job that cuts down on health insurance costs is a good decision.
I’m pretty sure he quit because she wouldn’t sign the prenup, so if they get a divorce he’s in a very protective position income-wise.

I didn’t understand at first, but after last nights episode, I think I figured it out. He claims it was to spend more time with her. That’s a lie, I think he quit so that he can just use that excuse every time she wants to buy something stupid. She wants a new couch, he’ll just say sorry babe I quit my job. Which is kind of a good idea if he has savings, plus it looks like he can return to work whenever he wants. However, this is the stupidest thing he could’ve done, he’s going to ruin the chance of bringing over her kids, due to not having income and not being able to sponsor

I believe he said he’s an engineer for GM. And has been for 30 or so years (I may be wrong on the years).
Truthfully, I think he is well off. And has been well off. And likely has enough saved to sustain himself for the next year and then some. But he’s not willing to let Jasmine drain him. So this is a way to force a budget as well as see what she’s made of.
Could be wrong. but that’s my theory.
If he’s been with the company that long and with it being in engineering, he could have done very well. First he hopefully put into his 401k all those years, if so, he’d be golden. Also he may be eligible to collect a company retirement pension (they actually had those as a company benefit years ago). They can’t take it away I don’t think if you were hired on with that. Also, if his job is high level enough he could be receiving company stock options and bonuses. So he’s doing fine if he did what he’s supposed to do

I hate comparing him to Bilal but Bilal is a pretty smart businessman and any real estate agent knows they can’t quit their job because the main source of income is when they sell a house. Gino could learn a thing or two from Bilal on keeping a job and spending time with your fiancé
I agree it was a stupid decision to quit his job and I think he did it because he was afraid with how needy she is that she would go back to Panama if he were to leave her home alone all day.
Before the season started someone said he quit his job to do “acting” guessing they will be the new face of the franchise
