Javier Tebas proposed to the clubs in the Extraordinary Assembly of LaLiga an increase in his salary, as EL ESPAÑOL reported exclusively. The president of the employers’ association will have a new variable salary that can make him earn up to 5.47 million euros a year, compared to the 3.36 million he earned last season.

The proposal by Tebas and the Delegate Commission was approved with 40 clubs voting in favour. Only Real Madrid and one other team - the vote was secret and it is not known which one it was - were against this salary increase through the LaLiga president’s bonus. Real Madrid publicly announced at the Assembly that it would reject both the accounts of the employers’ association, for not being transparent and not being well detailed, and the new remuneration of Tebas.

Tebas’ salary is thus updated retroactively to the 2022/2023 season. Furthermore, if he is re-elected president, this proposal creates a precedent that ensures that his salary can be multiplied by 15 in just 10 years. When he was appointed president, he criticised the salary of his predecessor and reduced it by a few thousand euros to 348,000 euros per year. However, this predisposition was short-lived and he quickly began to propose increases in his variable salaries.

As EL ESPAÑOL exclusively published, Tebas maintains his fixed salary of 2.1 million euros, but changes the bonus he receives at the end of each season. Until now he received up to 65% of that fixed salary as a variable linked to the sale of audiovisual rights.

However, now he will have two variables, one quantitative and one qualitative, which will be linked to the EBITDA of the LaLiga Group. In the Extraordinary Assembly, only the quantitative one was voted, which can make him earn up to 60% of his fixed salary, i.e. 1.31 million euros, and it will be enough to fulfil 85% of the Business Plan for him to be paid.

Honestly, this is insane. No goal line technology, no sound for var, but let’s raise this idiot’s salary. Are those clubs presidents drunk or what?

Because he has the support of 95% of the League for every single resolution he proposes.

The only consistent “No” vote he has against is Madrid and the only two “maybe no” are Athletic & Barca if they feel like it during that day.

It’s either vote for Tebas or have him do daily interviews about every single situation of the club.

If voting for Tebas ment he would publicly support super league Perez would think twice too.

Tebas’s support would mean fuck all, the leagues don’t have anything to do with the ESL.

As always we are the only ones consistently against anything that benefits Tebas.

But then you get bullshit theories like Tebas is a Madridista or that other teams don’t like him being the League president when is the complete reverse.

Where is the contradiction here? He said he is even if you or the club don’t like him.

The contradiction is that 95% of the League Clubs consistently vote for the “Madridista” to be President yet Madrid is the only one always voting against.

Everybody else like to have the Madridista in charge except Madrid…

It’s different but both are true though. Tebas hates Perez with is close past / current / close future of Madrid so it’s the same, he doesn’t love Madrid enough to not try to fuck up Perez as much as possible.

He ears more than all the other top leagues presidents combined. He also has raised his own salary in a scale of 10 since he became president.

Does he hold hostage the kids of 40 club presidents or what? How can they be voting for this clown to get around a 2M raise when he didn’t add goal line technology because it costs 3M?

Tebas was the only president to get Madrid and Barca to agree to the shared TV deal. He’s doubled TV money for some clubs compared to the past. He has their loyalty forever

It’s actually crazy that I still have no clue at all who the president of any other league is, but I literally see a story about this dickhead at least once every single week.
