Have wages really stagnated/fallen flat over the last decade or so? I Google it but there’s so much info out there that I don’t understand. Anecdotally, back when inflation was under 3% and even under 2% my salary went up at least 3.5% yearly. I have a friend that went up around that much in his state gov role. And around 3% yearly was common from people I knew. I get now, raises aren’t keeping up with inflation bc inflation the last couple of years have been really high, but I keep being told that wages have historically not kept up with inflation.
