Hello!

Denon AVR-X2700H with several devices on HDMI input:

  • Xfinity box on CBL/SAT

  • Xbox Series X on GAME

  • Nintendo Switch on DVD

  • Samsung UHD player on BLURAY

I am using eARC to a Samsung TV, although I don’t ever use the TV without the receiver on - I think this is just enabled to allow me to have both the TV and receiver turn on/off together.

In the last 6 months or so, I’ve noticed that whenever I turn on the receiver and TV and the Xbox was my last used source, 4 out of 5 times the receiver switches to CBL/SAT once startup has completed even if the Xbox was already sending its signal and was already up on screen. It’s within a few seconds that it switches, and I have to switch back. On rare occasions, after I’ve switched it back to the Xbox it switches back to CBL/SAT again.

It doesn’t seem to do this if the Switch was my previously used source. I’ve tested where I have the Switch source on, turn off the AV/TV and Switch, and then turn on AV/TV and leave the Switch off. I’ll eventually see the no source signal detected on the TV, but the AVR doesn’t automatically change source to CBL/SAT.

I can’t recall this being nearly as annoying prior to this and I’ve been using this AVR since 2020. Maybe it never happened, maybe once in a blue moon, but certainly not practically every time now.

Anything I might be missing in terms of a feature or setting that could explain this?

Thanks in advance for any assistance!
