I’m pretty sure that is how you say it properly in English. Maybe it’s different in Uyghur? It is a Turkic language. I know Mandarin has a totally different word for them that IIRC isn’t related to the word.
In the native language “Uyghur” the U is pronounced between an “ou” and Cyrillic У, “gh” sits somewhere between a guttural R and soft “kh/X” (voiced uvular fricative).
Wait, is that not how it’s pronounced? I’ve only heard chuds say the word out loud, so if that’s not it I’d like to know how to say it correctly.
