The fact they don’t bulk release shows bothers me wayyyyyy more than the price

The main defense I would bring is Apple One and their desire to push people to it. 20 a month for services that would cost close to 30 individually is a steal if you like games and apple music as well.

I don’t think anyone else besides Disney/Hulu/ESPN have a package deal like that.

Well my Apple one is going up $5 so not a deal for me anymore. I canceled and just pay for iCloud and music. I can sub and unsubscribe from tv as I need. Had to give up Apple News but not going to pay extra for it

Yeah for multiple people using Apple Music and iCloud storage and the occasional game or Apple TV show is a steal. Enough so that I just pay for my whole family to use it and use their hbo/hulu. Dressing the day Apple raises family Apple one prices too high or those other streaming services do the Netflix password crackdown.

Then I’ll be shivering me timbers.

Used to be a steal, don’t worry if you still believe it is a steal, they will eventually fuck that as well. I subscribe to one family plan mainly for iCloud for the family and only me using Apple Music and sometimes I do use fitness + them increasing prices makes me just want to cancel the whole thing.

I’m sure they will. Just not there yet for me, like Netflix has become already.

These guys really wont be afraid of piracy until it happens to them.

I wish they had a lower tier family plan with Music, TV and iCloud. Fitness, News and Arcade are all kinda meh to me

My problem with Apple One for the longest time was that the only way to get the iCloud storage I needed along with the few services I wanted was to buy the entire bundle. I really don’t care about Fitness+ or News+, but I need that 2TB of storage.

It only finally made sense when I got on a family plan with my sister and brother-in-law.

lol, 20 a month wouldn’t even cover the backups of just my phone, and I’ve got more than just me to think about. Premier is nearly $40/mo now.

I already canceled Apple TV along with Apple Music. Back to sailing the high seas for me. $11 a month for a VPN is cheaper than all these bullshit streaming services raising prices. Everything keeps going up except my paycheck. And a lifetime subscription to Plex is VERY reasonable.

This is the way. Fuck this corporate greed and let’s watch them die one by one. The only way I see this is one company where you have access to 100% of the streaming services, and they send the amount of money you’ve actually consumed to those streaming services. This means more people will use the streaming services = more content and more customers/income for them. Everyone’s happy. Look at this it’ll never happene because they’re all fucking stupid. So let’s sail the high seas and watch them die.

I laugh every time I see the price now or the ad pops up on the Apple TV app. Too funny to think their streaming service is worth $10 a month.

Everybody saying the $4.99 price was a great deal doesn’t understand how business works. Apple produced $100 million tv shows for the first few years. It was a great deal for you, but a shitty one for Apple. The more they spend on content, the more the price will be. Anywho doesn’t understand that needs to look up the definition of business. With any streaming company, if they are going to have 2-3 big name actors in a show on a consistent basis, expect to pay for it.

I’m sure this is a loss leader for Apple to build out the ecosystem and services. The Apple One sub however is still the best all around bang for your buck. Also $9.99 is still the cheapest service out there without ads. I know you can get Netflix for $6.99 with ads and Peacock at $1.99 with ads. But MAX, SiriusXM, and Netflix 4K are the most expensive streaming platforms and it’s getting out of control. .

Does it allow you to browse the shows if not subscribed? Can’t do that with Netflix, HBO and Disney+. But can for Amazon.

Yes in India Apple allows to browse and also let you watch trailer without subscribing. Same with Disney+ and Amazon.

That’s the only way I can justify with streaming services, the ala carte way. Finished The Last of Us on Now? CANCELED. Finished Narcos on Netflix? CANCELED. Oh, we’re done with Handmaid’s Tale and felt it was mediocre? CANCELED. Once a new season comes out from the shows we watch, we resubscribe for a month.

We do that with YTTV for football season and special events like World Cup and the Olympics. So this year is going to be expensive with the summer Olympics happening…

I hope these streaming services don’t have a contract to keep it for a year…god, I’d quit using all of them if that happened.
