This might be a stupid question, but I’ve never been to a big city before. Is this a safe watch or should I stick with an invicta or something? Should I ditch the watch entirely?

Ya, you’ll be fine. Last time I was in London I wore my Aqua Terra most days and had zero issues.
Same rules as anywhere: Maintain situational awareness and don’t make yourself an easy target. It’s not a luxury watch, and if you are aware of your surroundings you’ll be fine. Cities are not inherently bad / dangerous.
You can even wear a Rolex. Just wear under your sleeve and be aware of your surroundings and you should be fine.
If you have to ask, you are going to be a target with or without the watch.
My FIL wears his vintage Rolex walking around south London daily. I wear my Seiko without a care.
If you’re going to have anything stolen in London, it’s going to be your iPhone or your wallet.
