Wasn’t sure if there was a better way to phrase this, or if there’d be a better subreddit to ask the question.
Basically, one of the things I’ve been interested in for ages are the sites that push the limits of what you can do on the web, and aren’t just a company’s CRUD app. I know Awwwards has its own share of criticism (a lot of the things the top-voted sites do have bad UX and have bad performance), but I don’t know where to find many other people doing things in that space. I can trace some of the things on Awwwards to the individual companies and agencies that produced the sites, but ideally, I’d be able to find people who do these things outside of work.
But also, I’m lucky enough to work a decent-paying job that is fully-remote, and will stay fully-remote, and I’m looking to move. If there are any places with in-person communities, that could legitimately be a factor in me deciding to move there. I just haven’t been able to find much. It seems I could have some luck in NYC, but I’m having trouble finding any real, substantive communities
