So Anthony Taylor gets demoted for a Championship game last weekend after a big error in the PL the week before, makes another mistake in a Championship game, and now is given a huge game back in the PL this weekend.

I really don’t understand how this makes sense at all.

If he was eased back into the PL after at least a month, it would be understandable.

To be clear, though he has made so many mistakes, I’m not saying that he has to lose his job or referee the championship for the remainder of his career. But surely bringing him back so soon is a mistake?

Especially in a match where Chelsea is playing - he’s known for making terrible decisions against them for years, and now the PL throws him back into a game of such magnitude?

It doesn’t make sense for the PL and Anthony Taylor. I’m sure that he will feel the pressure come Sunday.

He wasn’t demoted, is why. Every top flight ref has to do a Championship game on occasion and it had been five seasons since the last time he had.

How does Paul Tierney get to referee Liverpool games?

When it comes to refereeing overall in the Premier league, nothing makes sense at the moment and we’re not supposed to question it. Just gobble up the shitty decisions week by week.

Game is rigged for City to win, so at least if Taylor makes a howler, the rhetoric will lean more towards him being shit and less towards corruption. 4D chess.

To be clear “I personally think he has made so many mistakes he shouldn’t be reffing the game I have a stake in and should ref some bottom tier clubs I think are rubbish because that’s what I believe”

    FTFY

    I want I want.

I want you to go learn to be a ref.

Because he wasn’t actually demoted, because he didn’t actually make an awful error, and because you idiots shouldn’t believe everything you read on the internet

I don’t like Taylor - I’m a Chelsea fan. But he didn’t make a mistake in the Championship. You’re either regurgitating what you’ve seen everyone else say or you’re biased because of his history. Giving that penalty was excellent refereeing. Agree that it’s ridiculous he gets to come straight back to Chelsea vs City though.

He’s probably been out to Abu Dhabi for a spot of refereeing to sharpen up before the big game

Err, OP are you new to English football, any mistake, no matter how stupid or ludicrous, made by a PL referee is fixed completely by a week up in Sunderland. They return like shining crusaders of truth, their sins and past errors erased, ready to bestow us with their perfect professional selves once more. It’s something to do with the 6 hour car journey I think. Their incompetence drains away by travelling north.

Because PGMOL/FA/etc are corrupt, biased and incompetent. They dont care. They are above the law. They cant be criticised. Say something wrong and you‘ll get silenced and fined. Big big Stasi vibes.
