The Premier League's Independent Key Match Incidents Panel has ruled the referee and the VAR were correct to award Newcastle United's winning goal against Arsenal.
Watched the Goal for the first time today to see what the fuss is about. Considering there was nothing to overrule the on field officials for balls being out or offside I agree with those decisions.
In terms of the Gabriel “push” seems to me like the defender made a hash of attempting to head it away and then tried to exaggerate the contact by flopping to the floor. Definitely doesn’t look like the sort of natural fall you would expect from a push.
Not sure I’d have overturned the refs decision, especially when watching replays in normal speed.
Both tackles should have seen red. Bruno’s really should warrant a longer ban as well as an attempted forearm smash should be looking at 6-7 games minimum in my book.
