Yep, she dead
- the brother, probably
According to Pairat, the woman’s brother said that his sister had been bedridden for about two years. Two days ago, her condition worsened and she appeared to have stopped breathing. The brother then placed her in a coffin and drove about 500 kilometers with the supposedly dead woman to a hospital in Bangkok, where the sister wanted to donate her organs, according to the brother. However, the hospital refused to accept the offer because the brother could not produce a death certificate.
The brother then turned to the temple, which offers free cremations. Because of the missing document, he was also rejected there. The moment he explained to the brother how he could obtain a death certificate, they heard a knock, Pairat said. After making sure that the woman was alive, she was taken to a hospital. According to Pairat, the abbot of the temple assured them that the temple would cover the medical costs.
Story is bananas
I’m wondering if there is more to this. Maybe he was trying to get away with murder.
Maybe. There’s a lot of weird stuff in this story. Like bringing a body in a coffin to a hospital. And they turned it away because there wasn’t a death certificate. I assume they didn’t check to see the body was actually dead.
If you’re wondering why all the places to legally dispose of a body need a death certificate, this article right here is why.

I’d be concerned about murder…
May I introduce you to Colorado?

Colorado finally has laws and inspections, but those are still turning up issues like:

There are also issues with pet cemeteries as well:
Neither list is exhaustive.
There were about 150 bodies in various states of decay. Some had been there for years.
The reason it was discovered since the smell of rotting flesh was drifting into a local neighbourhood
Oh yeah I’ve read about some of this. Insane!
Thai woman wakes up in coffin shortly before cremation
They decided to cremate her anyway?!?!

I’m glad there’s a general agreement not to cremate without a death certificate.
Hey, let’s not infringe on someone’s personal freedoms!
So this guy just had a coffin lying around and decided on his own authority it was time to go donate his sister’s organs?
Basically, yeah.
I imagine the sister is a bit thoughtful right now.
record scratch
“So you’re probably wondering how it came to this. Let’s go back two years to a time when…”
I mean that’s the second best time to do it.
I guess no doctor actually verified her death…
It literally says so in the article.
Great guess then
Would be more fun if a doctor said she was dead and she wasnt though. :)
