Maddisons now out for a few months, Udogie and Romero out for a bit, City coming up. Ultimately I don’t think they have the squad depth to keep the charge going.
But sure they undoubtedly had a good run but I guess people were right, City are inevitable…
Could’ve been a lot worse if Jackson converted more of his chances, although I thought you lot played well even with 2 men down…there is nothing about that loss to be ashamed of imo
He had 6 shots and 3 goals… 50%. Correct me if I’m wrong, but that pretty normal for a ST?
There’s nothing normal about the 3 he missed
People will say “but it almost paid off” but you have to realise Anges’ tactical naivety here. Nine times out of ten premier league teams will have a field day with a high line like that against 9 men, it was only our shocking performance in the final third that meant it wasn’t a total embarrassment. He’s said he’s gonna keep playing that way but imo there is a need for pragmatism to win trophies and if he won’t show it then, when will he?
This match was just another example of why Spurs don’t win shit. Even when they were playing decent for 15 minutes and went a goal up they lost their heads and honestly threw that game. If they hadn’t had a good run of form until then, people would be talking about it like the disastrous performance it actually was. Enjoy your spirit and character trophy lol.
Oh yeah there’s no shame at all, we clapped the players off the pitch. Gave it everything we were just undone by a combo of individual mistakes and injuries. These things happen
I disagree…
Chelsea had lost two matches already this season to a 10 men side. Tottenham could have set up a low block and still hit Chelsea on the counter.
But instead played a high line and probably factored in to Udogie getting a second yellow.
The high line against a team that hasn’t once broke down a low block yet this season is questionable.
