Today I washed my car, last time I did it was probably july, and in the last few weeks as you put on winter tires (studded tires, especially) and the roads are gritted my car was getting quite dirty and seemed to make people flinch when they saw that they were too close…

    In some areas they’ve reduced the amount of salt in order to protect the ground water. Living in an area like that is pretty nice because your car won’t rust that easily either. However, the roads can be very icy, so you win some and you lose some.

      I wish they would do that here. We have the highest salt use on our roads compared to anywhere else in the world.

      I don’t drive since they changed my work location.

      Not having to deal with the car is pretty nice. If I need one, I can always rent.

        Oh absolutely! Cars are also incredibly expensive to operate. You really don’t want to own one unless you really need it. All that money could be spent on so many things.
