So it really is a youth transfer for now, with Sauer being the one responsible for the deal.

Maybe some kind of Davies Musiala situation? Where they also got introduced with the Amas first to get used to the country, the football and just settling here?

Davies was presented by Brazzo, while Musiala was a 16 year old with no first team experience. Normally Irankunda would fall under the Davies category (same age, similar experience, similar country of origin), but here its Sauer completing it, not Freund/Brazzo.

Really careful with pressure and expectations, it could take years before we really see him work out, moving to another continent at his age must be incredibly hard and exciting at the same time, the difference in level of football will also be a shocker for him.

Nonetheless, it excites me to see us go to different markets and try something new, we don’t have a state backing us, we need to be smart and see the diamonds before they start twinkling.

Could be our next Phonzie if we handle it right.

Phonzie was supposed to be a winger/forward when we signed him. He wasn’t used much by Kovac then Hansi threw him in at LB. A bit of luck for sure, but I think we handled his situation as best we could.

Good signing,I hope he turns out great for us

It is a great sign of the club expanding to other markers too. We’ve tapped America (not so successful but we’ve had the Tillmans come through, Green and Donovan in the past), Canada (Davies), and now Australia.

We’ve had varying success with Asia (Iran players like Karimi and Daiei, not so good with Japan with Usami, but currently nabbed Minjae and probably have visibility now in Korea)

I hope there’s a Filipino who can be a good player. And scouted by Bayern
