Overall, the AFC East has a 17-21 record. This past weekend three AFC East teams lost “out of division” games, the only one that didn’t was the Dolphins, and they had a bye week.

Not what many expected, I think.

Early in the season the Bills & Dolphins looked like the favorite teams in the playoff and AFCC. Their offense looked extremely good, exciting and unstoppable. Now it seems like they both are an average team.

While I’m not saying the division has been great, you expect a “division of death” to have good teams with worse records than they would in weaker divisions.

Remember when the AFC East was considered to be a division of death?

No. It’s been one of the easiest divisions for a quarter century.

Most of the previous 2 decades before Brady it was the other way around in the division. Everything works itself out

What brief period was this? I’ve only really known it as a barrel of fish for Brady to shoot. AFCN and NFCW are the only consistent death traps.

AFC East losing all their games two weeks straight (Dolphins lost counts as two losses) AFC North overachieving

All this bullshit just so the Chiefs can go back to the SB, smdh 😔

Yeah I won’t be surprised if we see Thanos Mahomes in the Super Bowl. Nowadays the AFCCG is just the Chiefs Invitational

I don’t ever remember the afc east being the division of death

I remember the patriots being good and the bills, dolphins, and jets all being back for the last 20 years. AFC west and north were always producing better winning divisions than afc east.

The pats weren’t expected to be good but definitely not this bad, most Miami fans expected 6-3 at this point realistically, jets started the season with one of the best QBs ever and lost him 4 plays in which might have had an impact on their offensive performance, the bills are the only ones undershooting expectations badly without a reasonable excuse

Without a reasonable cause? You sure? You mention one player going down for the jets, you can’t think of anything significant happening for the Bills?

Dolphins might have had the greatest bye week in history based on what happened to other teams in the AFC.

AFC East has been the best division in the football for over 20 years!! We have by far the most amount of Super Bowls during that time.

No need to look at which individual teams won of course… that doesn’t matter here, we are talking about divisions right??

The Jets lost their star QB and are now back to the worst QB in the league, the Pats regressed massively when there was an assumption they’d at least be mid, Dolphins and Bills are both still good, but everyone has looked rough this year.

One thing I’ve learned over the years is whenever there’s a consensus on what divisions will be the best or worst going into a season, it’s almost always wrong. Remember the AFC West hype last year?
