We already know that many governments around the world are developing AI systems. With the huge amounts of data available to governments there is the potential for benefits such as improved administrative efficiency and less tax payer money wasted. However, this data could also be used to monitor and track individual citizens giving governments staggering amount of power with China being the most extreme example.

What are the potential dangers?

What risks are there with the technology we already have?

What are the key issues that people should be aware about?

I think this will become a more mainstream political issue in the future, but it is something I haven’t seen discussed much on this sub. I am curious what you all think!
