It’s an interesting one and maybe not as straightforward on first thought, are you judging on silverware? League position, how the players performed under them?
Because essentially they’ve all been sacked and left the club ok not the best terms and we have Ten Hag who we’ll see about. But as far as success, player performance despite what you may think of him, it’s gotta be Mourinho hasn’t it? Ten Hag hasn’t got a clue what his style of play is and is just as bad a man manager as modern mourinho so it’s up in the air to me.
Who would you say has been the best?
In order it’s Jose, ole, lvg, then eth or moyes. Moyes had the worst pl finish but eth has had some of the worst results in the club’s history while playing awful football despite being backed
Jose
EtH - could easily become best if we improve a little and he survives the ineos staff turnover
Ole
Then the rest tied for last place (excluding carrick as he was only like 3 games)
Morino
Ole at the wheel had the best football in terms of entertainment and consistency (and the Second Half FC/ Comeback FC was the real deal ahah)
Mourinho for me, only time I was worried about them actually sorting their shit out
Hahahahahahahahahaha,
Oh this is serious.
Jose and always will be now.
Everyone laughed when Mourinho said finish second with that United team was one of his best achievements.
Proved himself right yet again.
Nearly all of Joses quotes about manU have aged so well, he was right all along
I mean that’s still a stupid thing to say and he did a terrible job there
He hasn’t been proven right. He had a great team full of winners.
No I think he has.
He hasn’t, he had Rooney, zlatan, Pogba loads of great players. You’re just falling for mou pr.
And if you think any of those mentioned were at their best during his tenure, you’re falling for their pr. The reality is, Mourinho had a team of vastly overrated players and managed to get them playing to an expected level. After he left, look what happened.
That’s been true of every United manager, but comparing them all Mourinho easily has the best team.
And yet Ole also did it. Mourinho is full of shit, yet in time a few things he says people think are sage-like. No, United are still just shit, doesn’t mean it’s inevitable. They’ve just not improved.
Sure.
Mourinho was a busted flush and toxic as fuck. And almost everywhere he’s gone it’s always ended the same way.
That said, it wasn’t all his fault either, but this revisionist history of his time at United is absolute shite.
The football was awful to watch with a strong squad at his disposal.
Not saying he was a bad manager, he just wasn’t ever a fit for United manager.
I’m not sure it’s accurate to say ETH is a bad man manager. There have been a couple of players he’s had run ins with, but one was CR7, who is about as diva as they come, and the other is a young player who’s done nothing and thinks he’s somehow entitled to play just because he had one good season at his old club 4 years ago, and publicly came out in defiance of the manager.
Frankly, had it been Fergie, CR7 would have been sold in the summer before he left, because he was never going to fit the system (it was patently obvious ETH was told when he came in that he had to keep him), and he would have done exactly the same with Sancho, he’ll be gone in January.
It’s funny how being hardline with players is seen as tough love and putting the club first when you’re winning, but it can turn into getting labelled as a bad man manager when you’re not.
The most fun watching United has come from Ole-ball. Sure it had its downsides and was pretty inconsistent at times but the exhilaration of some of those large margin victories and performances makes it worth it.
jose mourinho.
complain about him being boring.
he got the results.
honestly don’t think ole was that bad either despite being one of the only managers since fergie to not win a trophy
Jose got axed for locker room tensions more so. He would have made champions. He was seen as the bad guy because of his reputation, the next manager soured on Pogba too and that’s when people said Jose was right. If that was Jose exiling Sancho the narrative would be worse I’m sure.
If you look at how Sir Alex started at Man U, if he did that today, he would get sacked.
My brains says Mourinho
My heart says Ole
