I mean 325 a week if they’re babies or toddlers makes sense in todays economy. I was paying nearly 200/wk like 20 years ago

Currently $455 USD per month at our daycare in Calgary, AB. As another poster mentioned, that’s before they really get rolling with the $15/day target in January.

As much as I grumble about our local politics, we’re doing not so bad in this area.

    I pad $180/week (2004-2008) - so that’s like $800/month

So add almost 2 decade worth of inflation and $1300/month sound about right!!

What does Lauren do for work? I understand women needing lives & purpose outside of being a mother but if you have 3 little ones & can afford to stay home & raise them then why don’t you? At this rate I would assume she’s only working to pay for daycare.

Sometimes it seems like it would be better financially to keep your kids home for the majority and just send them part-time when they’re older for the peer socialization….unless you’re making a ton of money, your whole paycheck practically goes for childcare……it’s insane how expensive it has gotten over the years!! Glad my kid is grown!!! 👶👦👨‍👦

$1300 per child full time where they live sounds about right. Though you usually get a discount for each extra child.

About to start day care in January. $1895 per month for one (1) child, and that’s a bargain.

Wtf? Im from norway and we pay maximum 300 dollars a month and get discount if there are siblings. Next year the maximum price allowed to charge is 200 dollars a month. I would quit my job if this was the deal
