ChatGPT is telling me to go to Antarctica. Not sure about the cost of living there. And besides, I don’t think their food game all that.

Seriously though, where have you spent a considerable amount of time and seen no roaches (the American and German types)?

The problem isn’t your apartment, it’s everyone elses’ that live around you. I first saw roaches when I moved to Korea, my apartment was spotless, my neighbors’ not so much. I would open drawers in my desk and they would be crawling around. No food anywhere to be seen. Didn’t matter. At least they were small. Now I deal with 4 inch long behemoths in a warm climate at least once every few months. I swear you can hear them breathing.

It is your apartment. While you can’t keep tiny ants out, anything bigger can be sealed/screened out. You have to take the time to find every little orifice and fill it.

If you have no window screens, no weather seals, and no concept of building standards, you have your work cut out for you.

But you can purge roaches and keep them out, if you so desire, even if your neighbors consider them part of the stir-fry on the stovetop.

Yes indeed if you live in a big condo, your apartment can have roaches, even if it’s clean, if other tenants keep theirs dirty. It happened to me in Gramercy Residence in Manila for example, the receptionist told me they routinely spray the entire building but if people keep their apartments dirty, roaches and other insects eventually return.

So, in big condos, especially if not new, you can find roaches even if you’re clean. But despite this, I rarely found them…maybe I got lucky.

If somebody is very scared by roaches, he/she can spray the perimeter of his apartment with an anti-roaches spray so they don’t get scared
