Zero troll whatsoever, but I’m glad the PL is docking points. Now with that said, I think Everton fucked up far less than most and it was trying to work with the EPL on the investigation.

City and Chelsea are going to need a new hole torn if this is as rough as it’s been on Everton.

an appeal must be heard, and concluded, before the end of the season.

Important, not having to choose between taking the hit now or risking a deduction in a tougher relegation fight next season

Everton get docked ten points for one violation. Man City currently have 114 violations against them. Should they all stand, does that mean Man City get 1140 point deduction across all leagues?

So the weird thing is we still don’t know exactly why this happened , Everton are in the bottom 3 for spending in the last 5 years , turns out Everton struggled more than most during lockdown and over spent more than most which is fair . Everton didn’t spend trying to gain a sporting advantage, they spent money keeping things afloat and had one over the top season of spending . When the prem league got involved Everton complied straight away rather than trying to look shady . Sometimes being the peoples club works against you .

You broke FFP so 10 point deduction.

Oh damn, what was FFP for again?

It’s to stop clubs going into administration.

Oh…doesn’t a points deduction mean we’re closer to going into administration?

    Yes.

It’s almost like FFP has nothing to do with protecting clubs and more about protecting certain clubs.

    Yes.

Doesn’t that just lead to the clubs who happened to be at their peak at the time of global expansion of English football (due to technology advances and the increase in marketability) being the most prestigious clubs and the biggest earners, leaving them in a position where no one can realistically compete because who wants to play at a club with less history of success, for less money and with a lower chance of winning anything?

    Shhhhhhhhh it’s for your protection.

They’re going to get awarded the points of every other team in the PL for being such a sterling example of the fairness of the league
