There’s a lot of players who come to the prem with insane hype and fail, but im curious about the inverse of this.

Pickford. Thought we’d wildly overspent on an inconsistent player who would only ever let us down when it counted most.

Never been more happy to be proven wrong.

Haaland. We’ve seen so many top scorers in various European leagues fail miserably in Premier league and I was expecting same for Haaland. But what a pleasant surprise.

David Luiz to Arsenal. Thought his tank was empty and hated the signing at the time. He had his share of mistakes but overall was solid and became one of my favorite players in the squad during his time at Arsenal

Matic when he signed for United. Nothing incredible but I was sure he would flop but he was solid for us.

A lot of ppl (me too) were suprised by the signing of Robertson.

He got relegated with Hull, and had a slow start in the Liverpool team.

I thought he will be just a wasted 15 mill

Kai Havertz - entire fan base was sure he’ll be a flop at Arsenal after we bought him for £65m despite that he flopped at Chelsea, but, oh wait, he actually is a flop just like everyone expected, so yeah, there’s that

KDB. Thought he’d go to Bayern and make his career in the Bundesliga. Then thought he wouldn’t cut it in the prem – it seemed that every Bundesliga player that crossed the channel during that period of time flopped in the prem, at least, those big transfers. Especially, when Chelsea bought every promising youth only to go out the back door.

Pedro. When he left Barca I thought it was over and then he did Pedro things, coming clutch in big moments with his goals and assists.

If you told me 2 seasons ago, Taiwo Awoniyi would outscore Nunez is a Prem season, after Nunez did so well in the CL & Taiwo never got a game for Liverpool in all the years he was on their books, I wouldn’t believe you.
