Hey guys! Saturday night listenings at home. Wife and daughter gone to bed. I’m thinking if it’s possible to EQ my beloved but veiled HD650 into a clarity, airy and dynamism of a Focal Clear OG (with all the limitations that are). Have a good night.

Nice. The Focals are very efficient. I had Mojo II for a while for portability. After I got the Battys, I just sell it.

I’ve got both of them here. I don’t think it’s possible with EQ.

The timbre of the 650 is both their blessing and their curse. The Clears focus and punch can’t be reproduced with the 650s drivers & assembly.

Thats what I thought. Magic can be do e with eq. I have done some tweaks and tricks with my 800s. So why not try rescue the 650 from the mud.

Tone boosters Morphit EQ probably has a preset for this. Kinda fun to play with, but EQ can only take you so far.

AutoEq can approximate the frequency response of another headphone. If you’re not good at command line scripting, you can use AutoEq.app or Squig.link. That said, there are limitations as to what you can do with EQ.

Probably not but I’m kinda weird I often go through auto EQ for my headphones and never end up using any of the profiles for my actual headphones to sound the best for me. Like my Sundara I’m using Audeze LCD-X EQ profile I think or something else.
