Wondering what people’s suggestions would be should I get the current gen i7 or last gen i9?
Primarly use my pc for gaming a bit of video editing + work but when I upgrade my pc again in hopefully 5+ years I put the CPU, motherboard and memory into my home server that I use for my lab.
i9 is £460 i7 is £420
If you go by cpu user benchmark, 14700k is 1% faster the previous i9, which is still faster
Which explains why I have just ordered the z790 tuf, ddr5 kit and 14700k a couple days ago. Coming from 10600k.
I9s don’t seem very work it unless you’re doing beyond heavy computing. Not at all worth it for gaming in fact sometimes performs worse in games.
