So here’s my situation: I accepted a job in France, I’m currently living in the US, I’m a US citizen and so is my husband. I understand I can work and stay in France with a work visa, but I’m unsure how to get my husband a visa, as he doesn’t have a job lined up. Can he just get a tourist visa, move with me, and then find a job once he’s there and change to a working visa or is that not allowed? Not sure exactly how to find him a job in France from the US without actually being there. Thanks in advance!
Your resident permit (start saying resident permit and not visa, because in France the visa is just the entrance permission, not the authorization to stay, and if you go around saying visa they will find it very annoying and confusing) as a salaire will include your spouse and kids, but they get their own and it needs to be processed along with yours. Call your company. However, if you have some other citizenship that is aiding your right to stay, the situation is different. If you have gotten a job but had no communication from the transfers and hr department or on that subject, double check that the job it real. This kind of thing should be very well covered by your sponsoring company and if it isn’t something is wrong.
