Will have exciting moments but ultimately he’s a fringe starter/high quality backup, and we will draft our next franchise guy in April.

Thank you for coming to my ted talk

I agree, simply because I said this after we drafted him. Hes a low ceiling/high floor player. Already 25 years old, not going to magically acquire new found mobility but smart enough to give you a chance in a pinch. Take away the Giants game, which was set up by multiple turnovers…he’s scored 17, 16, and 13 points in his three starts. 15.3 ppg has been in line with who we are. I think he can be solid…he’s never going to be elite

No doubt, he’s got skills. But his footwork and accuracy goes to shit at the first sign of pressure. He could develop but seems like a typical high floor low ceiling backup

It’s just too early to tell imo

Projecting a rookie QB’s career trajectory after 4 starts, one of which he was doomed to fail because of his coaches, is a bit premature.

I agree with everyone saying “draft a QB”, but AOC still has time to prove his potential. He could develop into a good middle of the pack QB, or he could be a career backup, we just don’t know until we know

Aidan is more talented than McGloin was, but if he’s the “QB of the future”, the Raiders future is in the toilet. The upcoming draft has more talented options at the QB position.

Precisely. It’s far too early to deem Mr. O’Connell our franchise quarterback as many were already declaring as of last week.

Some of our beloved Nation’s members act like Fanny packs and have a real issue getting far too attached to quarterbacks.

Equally, it’s also far too early to deem him a career back up. We need a larger sample size. The correct answer is allowing Mr. O’Connell to develop the rest of the season and also draft a quarterback out of this sensational QB draft class. We will allow them to compete for the right to start next season.

This is the most reasonable take I’ve seen so far. Problem is that we may play our way out of picking one of the “sure fire” prospects. At that point do we build the lines and pick up a QB in the 2nd or 3rd?

Wish we’d draft O-line help and lots of it, whoever ends up being our future franchise QB is gonna need time and protection.

I agree. The online makes a Qb from the start sometimes. Having miller out for 2 games has been detrimental to AOC. But that online is most important now going forward.

Aside from Stroud, which rookie QB is clearly outplaying him. He’s solid in short and intermediate situations, but the deep ball is a struggle. If he develops into a capable game manager and backup, that’s a win. Look at all the QBs going down this season. We still need to draft someone in the top half of round 1 next year-

Just about every QB is outplaying him.

Only Bryce young, Tommy devito, Zach Wilson, and Daniel Jones averaged a lower epa per play than what AOC has.

Only bryce young and Desmond ridder have averaged a lower PFF grade.

Richardson pre injury Levis has flashed much more potential Bryce Young is way more talented he just has a dog shit offensive roster. Put AOC on the panthers and he would be getting absolutely slaughtered.

All in all Aiden is playing pretty decent, but he also has extremely talented skill players

I don’t give a fuck who drafted him, if he provides value to the team, keep him. AOC clearly belongs in the league, whether he’s a long term starter is still TBD

Give him a chance to undo the damage of being a 3rd-string QB under JMD. It’s been like 4 games, with plenty of upside. He’s better than Bryce Young and way cheaper, you act like the next person we draft is guaranteed to be better.

A cheap 4th round salary qb with a great defense is how you win a Super Bowl, and we could have that if we just improve some over the offseason.

And give Jalen Ramsey credit, 2 of the interceptions yesterday were just insanely good defense.

Six games left. Plenty of time to evaluate. Maybe he improves and he’s the guy of the future, maybe he doesn’t and we draft someone next year. Really is too early to tell.

Yes, realistically you are correct. I was just drawing parallels to the short time period where some of us thought mcgloin was the future

Jesus christ on a crutch its a rookies 3rd start and two of those picks were forcing it to Adams ( not a bad plan) in high leverage situations. The kid is a good decision maker give him a chance for Christ’s sake. He threw for 271 on the road against a good defense with friggin Jalen Ramsey covering his #1 option.
