Did you know that the fluffier the cat, the more gumdrop-shaped they become when they sit? He had a haircut a little while back to get rid of the mats (he isn’t cleaning himself as well in his older age now), and his fluff is coming back with style! Wish he’d let me brush him more.

He is a little chonky. He pretends to be starving to entice me to give him more wet food (he has an automatic feeder and pretends that it didn’t go off three times a day) or a licky stick (our name for tube treats). I thought maybe he wasn’t quite getting enough, so I gave him more wet food.

Well, turns out he was getting enough, so now I’ve gotta cut back on his meals a little! Cheeky, cheeky.

    Aww the floofy licorice kitteh! Older cats need a little cushion in case one of the old-age ailments impairs their eating or digestion, imho. Not obesity, but lean can quickly become skinny and fragile. But you should listen to your vet.

      He’s definitely not frail, that’s for sure! I watch his weight quite closely, since he’s up there now. Still well-fed! So far so good. Still quite healthy, and he’s super mellow.

      This picture makes me feel a lot of nostalgia. The 360 controller and that chair remind me of better times.

      Also, I have a tabby that is about as fluffy who is the same age. He also begs for food constantly even though he gets more than enough.

        lol that was a chair from 2003 when that style was popular. This was some time in 2012 when this kitty was just a baby. He’s a little old man now, who doesn’t like jumping anymore but still rips around the house at 3:00 AM.

        I think it’s just a thing cats do! It’s especially the case when I come home! I heard how cats think we’re out hunting, and so when we come home they expect us to bring food back. So, this is usually when he bugs for food even if his feeder just dropped the next meal. Licky sticks are, of course, a treat. He gets excited when I get the scissors (that’s how I open them)!
