I have an ASUS Zenfone 8 and I love that even the latest version still has a 3.5mm out, but I just started poking around in the settings for my Samsung Galaxy tablet and realized that Samsung Galaxy devices get Dolby Atmos. (Movies have never been better!) It got me thinking, what phones do other auditorily-inclined people use? Does AptX/LDAC support matter to you? Does audio go into your purchasing decisions at all?
POCO F3. It genuinely shits on phones 4x as expensive (at the time of release anyways). Still holding up several years later.
MIUI has some annoying quirks but so do any phone OS’s including vanilla Android.
This old cheap Chinese phone also supports LDAC. No headphone out but an IFI Go Link can even drive my 470 OHM headphones.
- iPhone 15 Pro
- Samsung S23
Both with Tempotech Sonata HD Pro Dongle DAC and IEMs. Had a V30 years ago and it was a blast. Sold it after joining Apple-Branch in my company which gave me tons of iPhones for testing. Shouldn’t have sold it…
iPhone 15 Pro with Apple dongle. Paired with my EW200s. Holy hell I love the combo.
iphone for apple music best interface and qudelix 5k
iPhone 15 pro max with buds 2 pro for on the go convenience.
IER-Z1R and tazh1es/wm1a at home.
Use an iPhone XR. Pair it with a Qudelix 5k and my IEMs.
I have a Galaxy Z Fold 3. I use an Apple dongle.
OP7 Pro + Fiio Q5S.
I have a iPhone SE, but I don’t use it to listen to music. I have a Fiio M11 Pro ESS for that.
Use an iPhone XR. Pair it with a Qudelix 5k and my IEMs.
This is what I am doing too, just get any phone you like and use the Qudelix!
I have an iPhone X and simply pair it with a Sennheiser.
iPhone 14. Because my iPhone 8 died and new phones are all the same cost. Also I’m knee deep in a 60GB Apple Music library and don’t have the energy to learn a new phone. Even with how scummy apple is.
I wanna know how large peoples flac storages are
I answered the title.
I use an iPhone 13 Pro Max. I use an apple dongle or my ibasso to power my sound.
xperia 1 v. i like the form factor, and i’ve been using the xperia since the xz2. the screen is great, has dual sim and memory card if i wanted. it has a headphone jack and ldac which is nice. pairs nice with my ecosystem at home, my car and at work.
Surface duo 2 and use a bluetooth dongle or USB amp. The phone is not great by itself to power any headphones or IEMs but has great processing power.
Usb-c and being able to run my Qudelix 5K wired was one of the things that motivated me to upgrade to an iPhone 15.
Though really the iPhone’s AAC is perfectly fine too.
