Is there even a good reason for this and seems weird sticking two title rivals in that time. Can imagine it will also be very difficult for Liverpool fans travelling up from London so early to get to the game on time
12:30 kickoff is evening in Asia, where majority of football fans live. Prime tv viewing for them and Liverpool is an attractive team to watch.
As a California-based fan Saturday’s match is going to test my sleeping hours. :(
Because the TV people always pick Liverpool. This has been an ongoing pain for multiple seasons. Nothing we can do about it
Behaviour of Liverpool fans has forced GMP’s hand.
Don’t just turn a blind eye like Merseysides finest.
Fans can’t be trusted with the late kickoffs.
Liverpool = big
so everyone will want to watch that match despite the horrible time
For United States consumption. We like some games not in the wee hours of the morn.
Players hate that timeslot as well apparently. Big meal to early in the day
So people from east asia/middle east(like me) are able to watch these matches with no worry
They are only thinking about Liverpudlians jobs of stealing cars and slinging drugs. If you ask me they doing that city a favour having them kick-off during non business hours.
I also think it might have to do with discouraging (reduce the chance) the fans that cause trouble from attending the games. The fans that cause trouble to opposing team couches with flairs, smokebombs and other objects are less likely to make the early commute.
Aren’t most early ko at the request of police?
Bc they’re Liverpool and the tv channels want a big game at that time slot
Ever since klopp Liverpool have played 13 or 14 times in that time slot , Tottenham is second with 6 matches at that time …
I am not sure it’s some kinda conspiracy or anything but it’s just plain weird
Not weird though is it? It’s only weird if you’re assuming every team should get an equal scheduling distribution which is never the case. They’ll be other teams that play many more Monday night games for example.
Liverpool act like the opposition don’t have to play at 12.30pm too and they’re somehow impeded by that time slot. there’s no disadvantage.
Its not a conspiracy, and you’re insane if you think an extra 2 and half hours makes any difference.
You are popular in Asia, that is the Asia time slot… because you are popular in Asia you are picked for that time slot more often, and therefore get more TV money (for being picked 28 times a season to be on TV, compared to other clubs only getting picked 10-12 times) and thus you get vastly more sponsorship money.
But sure the extra £400m you get compared to the other 14 clubs is a conspiracy…
Literally said idk if it’s a conspiracy nor would I ever say it
Are there a lot of Liverpool fans living in London that will travel to Manchester?
