I`m looking for my first dress watch around $2k max, and I really like minimalist designs, that said, these are the competitors:
- Nomos Lugwig 38 (Manual)
- Longines Heritage Classic (Automatic)
If you have another suggestion for this price range, I’ll definitely check it out, thanks guys !

Nomos
That’s a tough one. Both are excellent. I have a very tiny preference for the Longines, but you won’t go wrong either way.
I would take the Nomos Tangente (I prefer its numerals) or Orion (just indices, different lugs) in 35mm (the classic size)
I’d choose the Nomos Club Campus 36. Here are my reasons:
- 10 ATM (water resistance is important to me)
- 36 is a more classic size
- the lugs are nicer than the Ludwig but the dial is simpler than the Longines.
- nicer colours (you could get white for a more dressy feel but have the orange accents for the flair)
- California dial is so nice.
