I have seen so many posts of people shitting on popular books so I need to hear some of your favourite ones.
For me I believe that the A Good Girls Guide To Murder series is amazing and deserves all the love in the world
It has a incredible plot with so many fun and well written characters that I found quite relatable, the entire series is just fantastic and is one of my all time favourite mystery series
house in the cerulean sea
Little House Series. Took me right into the world of discovery in the U.S., when much of it was more open.
Anne of Green Gables
Yes I loved those books! Haven’t watched the show tho
Watch the 80s version (like other said, with Megan Follows… It’s the best)! And only then the newer ones.
Also, Road to Avonlea (with Sarah Polley) is charming as well!
What can you watch it on?:)
You must! (with Megan Follows)
In 2000, Megan Follows was in an episode of “Made in Canada” (aka “The Industry”) – a satire of TV production – as the former child star of a fictional TV series called “Adele of Beaver Creek.”
Thanks! Never heard of it :)
Yes! Was coming to comment this. So many just stop with the first book
People dismiss sometimes them as too saccharine but reading them as a young child/teen, I was just spellbound by her descriptions of nature, the rhythms of life, and the dialogue of her characters. They are so cozy, magical, and lovely.
In the later books, her writing about coping with real loss is also not saccharine.
Beartown series
The 4MK (4th Monkey) series by J D Barker. Genre is thriller/suspense. Not enough of this genre is posted here.
hunger games
Books and films: The Lord of the Rings
Books: The Witcher (the show sucks)
The Raven Cycle.
I loved all books by T. Kingfisher - some more than others, but “Nettle and Bone” is one of my favorite reads in recent years, although in theory it has everything I hate about fantasy novels (high fantasy, romance, apparently matchless magic on the villain’s side). It is just so well-done.
Harry Potter & Lord of The Rings
HP is the reason I read, I still get that same giddy excitement from reading them as I did when I was kid/teenager. Are they the most amazing pieces of literature? Nope they have such a level of wonder, intrigue and silliness that I just can’t ignore.
LOTR is just a beautiful story that I can’t get enough of reading. The world, the characters, the highs and lows. I still get emotional reading it years later
The lotr books surprised me with how much I enjoyed just the descriptions of how far they’d travelled, what theyd eaten, and whos turn it was to start the fire.
At the time of its release, Jurassic Park got pretty huge. I still love reading it every couple of years.
The dark tower series
The Chronicles of St. Mary’s by Jodi Taylor
Nothing comes to mind. My favorite series are Harry Potter, Stormlight Archives, and The Years of Lyndon Johnson.
Potter is a mess in the last two books, and Archives is to me obscenely overrated, and I hated Master of the Senate.
Harry Potter
I only read the first book so far, and I’m already loving it. Which one in the series is your favorite book?
