Hi guys,

I was gifted a very beautiful Maserati Modena edition watch by the closest people I have. It looks amazing and is super stylish.

However, I’ve always had this perception of people who wear luxury car brand accessories as being somewhat douchebags and posers.

What would you say on the matter? Does having a Maserati watch make you a douche?

I’m facing a dilemma:

  • Do I keep the watch and risk being considered a c*nt whenever others see it? or
  • Do I kindly ask the people that have gifted me the watch to substitute it (which they have said wouldn’t be a problem at all)… but risk hurting their feelings :|? I just know for a fact that they’ve bought it with all the love they have.

Not sure what to do here so any advice and thoughts on the matter would be appreciated 🙏🏻.

Today I learn about watch that was made for car manufacturer. Is it made for them, or they just slap the logo on an existent “sterile” watch?

They are usually like fashion watches from Armani, Gucci and all that kind of shit, cheap materials, poor build quality, off the shelf movements in a nice overpriced package

Huh. Shame. I would love to wear a watch that has Honda (car), for example, as the label brand. Not to say there’s a Seiko and Honda cub collaboration, that was a nice indeed.

If there is a collab with a serious watch market like Seiko that would probably be a real nice watch

A Maserati modena edition is a relatively (in the watch world) cheap watch. If you can afford to drive a Maserati, you can afford a better watch. So wearing it most certainly does not equate you to a Maserati driver.

No, just means you liked the watch and / or are a fan of Maserati. Enjoy it, what a cool gift!

If it’s a gift from people you love, if someone asks, tell them that.

    99.99% of people won’t care.

Honestly, buying a Maserati watch to go along with a Maserati car might look even more douchy.

If you like the watch and want to buy it, nobody will read what’s written on it.
