My wife and I are in our mid 60’s and retired. We are horrified about possibility of the USA electing a fascist dictator in 2024 and are looking for resources who can coach us in how to relocate and move enough of our money to live on should the USA go in that direction.

We’re considering Panama and Costa Rica. Portugal looks really nice but is seems the favorable tax status is being recinderd.

Any advice regarding resources would be a good start for us. We will probably be taking a trip or 2 to scout things out in the spring.

Do people realize that the entire USA constitution would have to be overhauled to have fascism? Lmao get a grip…!

Not only that, but the President of the US doesn’t have that much power. Most of it resides with Congress.

It’s funny how worked up people get about the Presidential election considering they often don’t move the needle on legislation.

The same kind rioting and destroying city property but go off. Neither look good. Both sides are wrong. The country is too divided.

Same that got applied in fiery but mostly peaceful protests supported by a founder who in the 80s planted an actual bomb in the Congress building

Hahahaha “fascist dictator” 😂🤣😂🤣 As bad as Trump, DeSantis, etc they are a lot of things, but not Hitler or Mussolini. You should really learn the meaning of fascism without the left wing hyperbole.

In the end, you don’t have the balls to move and you know it.

I’m 100% fine with people saying “hey, I think Trump and DeSantis are bad for America”. Cool, valid political opinion.

But calling them fascist just screams unhinged. Like the kooky 60 year old women in San Francisco with a car full of political bumperstickers. Definitely a screw lose.

The first question to ask isn’t where you want to go, or where you can avoid having to pay taxes (very progressive of you!), but where you’ll be allowed to settle.

For all your outrage at the fascist dictator storyline you seem to have bad main character syndrome and a distorted view of how other countries work. You’ll need a residence permit. Start with that.

Slow down for a moment. What you’re looking for is a residency permit. The process can be rather painless; take Mexico for example.

Ah, don’t come to the Netherlands (I’m 18-) and we have now a nationalistic, populistic and conservative leader as minister-president (gonna be).

But Trump is not that bad. Just calm down.

      Ummmmmm… Look up Project 2025.

Trump (in tandem with Project 2025) makes Geert Wilders look like one’s lovable, harmless uncle by comparison.

It’s not about Trump specifically as it is the entire Republican party right now. Project 2025, for example, if it were put into play would change the entire landscape of the US (including the “safe” Democratic states).

Not sure how old you are, but eventually you realize that every election is “dramatic changes coming” and it never is. Look at the Democrats. Way too many old-school democrats who represent middle of the road political districts to vote for stupid far-left shit. Same for the far-right.

Despite the stupid political rhetoric and media fanning the flames, America just keeps chugging along with middle of the road politics.
