Hey all,

I hope you are all doing well.

I am looking for a nice Watch recommendation for my 19th birthday which is coming up in the next few weeks. I’m thinking of buying it possibly tomorrow cause Black Friday sales lol.

I’m looking for a nice watch that I can wear daily, specifically to the office/work, but also out and about. I would prefer not to spend more then $500(CAD), but if it’s something I really love I would be willing to stretch to $1000(CAD). I do have a bigger wrist and I’m not a big fan of diver watches personally.

From the research I’ve done I’ve kinda narrowed it down to this list, but I am completely open to any other recommendations:

Tissot Gentleman Tissot PRX Seiko Cocktail (SRPE19J1 or SRPB77) Seiko Presage (SBGA125) Orient Bambino Omega x Swatch (moon watch) Bulova Lunar Pilot Hamilton Khaki (more then I’d like to spend but I would if it’s really recommended)

Out of these options, what would you recommend? Or would you recommend something completely different? I totally intend to buy some nice leather bands if the watch chosen has a metal band.

Any thoughts are appreciated!

It actually depends on your wrist width. If it’s not too small, for 1K, I think the Hamilton Khaki Murph is a solid choice. Very close after that is Seiko Alpinist and Christopher Ward Dune.

If you stick with $500 and no diver, the Orient Bambino is a solid choice.

First make sure you know the difference between quartz and automatic watches.

If accuracy is important to you get a solar watch like a citizen eco-drive or a seiko sola or Casio solar.

The Casio oceanus t200 is a great choice for a very well finished and feature packed watch. It has atomic sync and if you are out o f the Colorado atomic tower range it also has Bluetooth sync for correcting the time. This way it’s always accurate to the second and since it’s solar it doesn’t need battery changes as long as you don’t hide it in a drawer in the dark when not wearing it.

It also has a sapphire crystal and a s ratch resistant coating too (I think).
