Naw man. Go on eBay right now looking for sealed unused new… there’s one for the same specs for $950 plus tax… free shipping.

I just bought one of those same ones with a new battery for 1080$ after tax a month ago. So I would imagine you should be getting a better deal since it’s black friday and cyber monday and there’s all the deals.

I’d expect you could get it for like 950$ with the deals, but 1100$ is fair.

The battery may be a problem But the price it’s fair See if the seller can sell it at 900-1000 Due to the battery

Even if it were in 50% it would still be doing great numbers compared to other laptops.

I honestly would not replace it until it only last about 4 hours on a charge. At 86% probably still does 10 hours.

Likely true (I own an M1 Pro and Air), I’m more concerned about battery swelling. The chemical changes are accelerating, and the first casualty is the trackpad. Worth $200 to get it swapped out asap.

Also true! I would definitely have a repair shop have a look at it to see if the battery needs to be swapped. It could be that the OG owner was just using it constantly for heavy work.

My M1 Max also has horrible battery health with very little cycles. It seems to be a common problem on these Pros, based on a quick online research

I’d add two hundred and pick it up at a discount (there are still some cool deals on Amazon)

Looks like a fair deal to me. Depending on currency though. I’m CAD$.

Keep in mind that the M1 (base) MacBook Pro has a tremendous battery life, so 86% shouldn’t be a big deal. I got mine at 88% (a year ago; likely was plugged in 24/7), and it hasn’t declined since.

M1 should not dip under 10 hours I don’t think, which, imo is plenty.

I just bought a MacBook Pro m1 512gb and 16gb ram for 1000$ CAD. Battery had like 38 cycles and 98% maximum capacity. Might be better to wait for a better deal battery replacements cost a lot and this laptop is close to the 75% max charge threshold I give myself before replacing a battery.

Eh, my M1 Air is at 87% after 1 year and half

Although it is important to note that it came with 92% brand new out of the box

I contacted apple, they never did anything about it, but it never affected my usability, so I didn’t care much, though that seems extremely un-apple like lmao
