I am way more productive when Im travelling than working from my home base. Did someone just become a nomad just because of this?
If you mean procrastinating in a foreign land then sure
That’s reason enough to travel - procrastination in a better weather
Yes because you use your phone less. Want to get rid of ADHD/ADD? Use your phone as little as possible and watch how it changes your brain.
Yes, working on this part
I am more productive, but only for the first month or so.
No fix, though, not at all
Makes sense. When the routine sets in, I guess it doesn’t work to increase the dopamine in brain
For me it’s the opposite. I am zero preductive until I find out im weeks behind lol
Then I book a cowork and focus far from the parties and activities
I definitely enjoy procrastinating from a tropical island more than in a big city
That in itself is a reason to travel, isn’t it?
It does the absolute opposite to me.
Like makes you focus less on your work?
Yeah because I don’t always have a comfortable work environment, and I’m more likely to want to get out and do things.
Nope, I have ADHD wherever I go. That said, I do enjoy the novelty that comes from exploring new places, and it does seem to scratch a bit of an itch in my brain. Unfortunately, moving around often makes it hard for me to build and maintain a routine, so I kinda shoot myself in the foot in that way.
If you like working from new places, how about rotating between different cafes or co-working places in your home city? You might be able to tap into some of the same feeling that you get from nomading.
Makes sense about the schedule part. But too much of being in the same schedule also dips the dopamine in my brain.
Yes, I do keep switching between cafes and work places, that’s why I was wondering if someone is doing this at a bigger scale - switching between workplaces in different countries :)

Yes! I discovered I had ADHD because of it lol. Started traveling so I would constantly have fresh stimuli and experiences around me and every time I switch countries i get a massive productivity / mental health boost
THIS is the answer I was looking for.
What does your travel schedule generally look like?
It alternates a lot as well. Usually i do 1-2 months of fast travel, and once I get exhausted from that I spend 3-6 months in one place. Then I usually get the urge to do more again and the cycle repeats. I’m mostly in Asia and South America. Sometimes I drop by central Europe or USA but I hate my time there so much… really lucky I can do this, i could legit not survive a desk job.
What’s yours?
Honestly, idk about my adhd being fixed lol but I have found a decrease in my anxiety, eating less (from less stress), and more enjoyment in my day to day. I’ve been able to establish better habits like I used to smoke cannabis multiple times a day, but now even in Bangkok I’m not really interested in smoking, and definitely don’t feel like I “need” to. I barely even drink.
I feel more well rested, more attune to my physiological and emotional needs too. I think all this contributes to my symptoms of ADHD
This is amazing. Thanks for sharing your observations.
Exactly what I was thinking in terms of how nomading might affect this condition.
Wish you great travels and productivity.
Kind of but never worked better than medication. Now I both travel and take meds LOL
I guess that’s the right way :)
I fixed my ADHD with traumahealing, especially developement-trauma and a good raw nutrition with an active detoxification of the body.
In childhood i was always active, could never be still and was unable to concentrate. Now i can concentrate better then ever before and become calmer every day
Wow, where can I know more about this?
Simply said, nowhere regarding ADHD.
The first thing is that your REALLY want healing. And you have to be open for everything. Then nothing can stop you. Its simply connection knowledge, trying many things, view and recognicing changes and that for many years.
A good source are the books from traumaheilung.net. They are in english available too.
another source is Stephen Porges- the polyvagaltheory. an easier source is Allien Lapiere- healing developement-trauma.
honest sharing by Gopal Norbert Klein is a very easy selfhelping method.
To be honest i can tell you TONS of knowledge in every detail. How everything works, why it works etc. But thats too much for Reddit.
But i have telegram if you want to know everything
