Hello everyone! I’m planning to purchase an original xbox controller and I don’t know which version to choose: with or without bluetooth dongle. My computer already has a bluetooth module, but while searching for information on the Internet, I came across messages with recommendations to use the original dongle instead of the built-in bluetooth module. Can you tell me about your experience of using a controller without a dongle: is it possible to connect it via bluetooth to linux and use it for games, how well it works, are there any problems, is the controller correctly recognized by games, emulators?
Original (or not so much from AliExpress) dongle + xone via dkms make a better user experience. I’ve had fair amount of pairing/re-pairing issues with Bluetooth, but that was quite a while ago.
That’s still the case. This coming from someone who bought and tried 4 different “high end” Bluetooth adapters. Had problems with ALL of them eventually. Only official dongle and controller worked. I ended up settling for 8bitdo adapter + switch pro controller. No issues since then
