Hello everyone! I’m planning to purchase an original xbox controller and I don’t know which version to choose: with or without bluetooth dongle. My computer already has a bluetooth module, but while searching for information on the Internet, I came across messages with recommendations to use the original dongle instead of the built-in bluetooth module. Can you tell me about your experience of using a controller without a dongle: is it possible to connect it via bluetooth to linux and use it for games, how well it works, are there any problems, is the controller correctly recognized by games, emulators?

Mostly using is about the same. Unless you have an Xbox One controller that came out before the S; those don’t have Bluetooth. Also newer controllers and firmwares switch to Bluetooth LE, which is not the same as Bluetooth, so make sure you have that.

Or if you want to use the headset jack, that won’t work over Bluetooth. Bluetooth audio sucks.

Or if you want to hook up 8 players, Bluetooth is limited to 7 devices.
