Just curious about your favorite things to play on your system. I have a decent record collection but if im home doing things i have a few extended playlists on apple music and enjoy their lossless through a simple usb DAC to a 90s Yamaha receiver with a variety of goodwill speakers and old sub but everything tuned together to work really nicely.
Personally my favorite vinyl to listen to is a 12 extended single of lovecats by the cure. John Coltrane and Antonio Carlos Jobim get alot of spin time too. Lots of samba, jazz, and random low fi house on record.
My digital libraries have lots of jazz inspired hip hop mostly 90s, house, math rock, and funk. Some artists ive been listening too more recently are FKJ, Yussef Dayes, Tom Misch, and hiatus kaiyote
What do you listen to?
Some Death Metal too… it’s weird, I started out with OG Heavy Metal, Black Sabbath, Maiden, Judas Priest and then quickly became interested in Thrash… after diving into the Big 4s discographies and some other Thrash greats such as Sepultura, becoming a pretty big Megadeth fan I discovered the band Death which slowly got me into Death Metal.
Morbid Angel and specifically their debut finally opened my eyes (and ears) to proper evil sounding Metal and I became hooked on Death Metal. Next came Mayhems DMDS, Dissections - Storm and Emperor’s - In the Nightside Eclipse. Ever since then I’ve been really mostly listening to Black Metal when it comes to Metal music… I’d say 70/30 BM/DM… weirdly enough I don’t listen to thrash anymore… it’s just lost its edge compared to proper Death Metal or Black Metal.
