ProtonDB has many false and misleading reports though as compatibility greatly depends on hardware, software and what you actually do within the game. A ton of games are listed as Gold or Platinum in ProtonDB despite some features like multiplayer or VR support being completely broken through Proton.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s nice that a resource like ProtonDB exists, but the way it currently works (automatically assigning a rating by the number of ‘works’, ‘works with tweaks’ and ‘doesn’t work’) it just leads to being very misleading in a great number of cases. I still don’t get why they didn’t just copy the rating system of WineHQ’s AppDB where when reporting you can report which parts work and which parts didn’t work and which parts you didn’t test.
