I’m a sucker for the blue Certina 38mm DS Action Diver. I have the same size wrist as you, and the shorter lug to lug is what puts it in the winner circle for me (and blue just because). The male end link makes the Certinas and Midos Ocean Star Titanium wear a little larger than their lug to lug, but Certina tends to curve that end link down to sit on smaller wrists pretty well.
I own a Mido Commander and a couple of Certinas, and I do find the case and bracelet finishing to be a little better on the Mido, but it’s not a deal maker/breaker difference.
