Howdy all,
This is super random and specific, but my partner showed me the film Bedazzled with Peter Cook and Dudley Moore recently. I adored the script, characters, and humour.
I am wondering by what authors they were inspired and if there’s any books similar to the writing in this film. I am interested in what this story might be like as a novel. It’s got British comedy and Monty Python-y satire/taking the piss out of rich people, religion, capitalism, society in general, etc.
Thanks!
I’d recommend Christopher Moore’s Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ’s Childhood Pal. Irreverent humor that satirizes a wide array of the topics you mentioned.
Thank you!
