“The Road” by Cormac McCarthy held me captive, staying up all night immersed in its pages, awakening the next morning with a lingering sense of melancholy. Stephen King’s works, especially “The Shining,” share that unique ability to make you eagerly anticipate the next page, constantly wondering what twist awaits.
House of Leaves.
To this day the only book to keep me up until 4am. Especially with those final few chapters.
Such a mesmerizing experience. Wish I could experience it for the first time again.
Tried several times to read it and always fail
I finally just ordered it. I’ve seen it recommended so many times, but I have a tendency to read digital mostly — which I’ve heard this book is not conducive to.
Looking forward to finally diving into this gem!
