Not sure what game some people watched but Doku did fuck all. If sprinting into space and dribbling the ball out for a goal kick or smashing it into the first defender is a world class performance then wilfred zaha is the best winger in the world
He’s going to be a better player but the praise for this performance reminds me a lot of Adama Traore’s early Wolves days. He was absolutely unplayable and a menace every time he stepped on the pitch, and finished the season with 1 goal and 3 assists.
All the flair with none of the end product.
Doku finished the Bournemouth game with 1 goal and 4 assists.
Yeah, get the highest match rating of any player from Opta by doing “fuck all”.
Who gives a shit anout some made ip rating that over values dribbles. 70% of the time he got the ball he blasted it to the first defender or dribbled out the goal line for a goal kick lmao
The absolute disrespect on the Wilf
Still made me worry every time he got the ball. People are saying no end product but all it takes is one well delivered ball to the box and they’ve got enough people who can finish. Luckily he couldn’t manage that today
He did manage it a few times, City’s players just couldn’t put it in the back of the net (partly do to bad finishing and partly due to Liverpool players blocking shots).
There is a reason he got MOTM from Opta without having scored or assisted.
These close games showing how pivotal KDB is. Alvarez has been a ghost nearly every tough match this season & his SP delivery is awful compared to KDB. He’s got a great work rate, but creatively it’s very clearly he’s a forward in a midfielder’s position.
Matip has to be one of the most underrated PL defenders in the last 10 years
Yeah, I’m a big fan. A great defender and also I love the way he takes the game on with his runs down the middle.
Matip is the closest I see to What Stones does for us. If he played for us he would’ve been insane next to Rodri in my eyes.
This game told me one thing -
The title was there for the taking for Spurs but alas injuries happened. Nobody comes close to pre-injury Spurs with the style and effectiveness that Spurs played with.
Such a shame really.
Spurs were never going to win the title. Anybody who thought they would was just lying to themselves.
We’ll be telling our grandkids about those eight games.
Title there for the taking? Will be lucky to finish in the top 4
I am sure you could have found another way to “spurs” it up.
It’s because you have bad squad depth. Which is your own fault.
Or, you just shouldn’t based your opinion on one game, especially a 12:30 kick. A 9 men looked superior to Spurs not so long ago.
The title was there for the taking for Spurs but alas injuries happened
lol
Lol the belief in your squad went quick
👋
12/15 successful dribbles by doku against liverpool 😯
City won on successful dribbles
Against TAA actually
0/12 times he did something successful with the ball afterwards though.
He’s absolutely terrifying 1:1 but his final ball leaves a lot to be desired
his crosses and cutbacks into the box were very dangerous, is teammates just couldnt capitalize.
“Dangerous” is subjective, firing a ball into an already crowded box rarely results in a goal, even if it seems excitinf
We broke their winning streak though
We are so wasteful its ridiculous. Shit performances all around and we got no subs. In January transfer window, we need someone that is at least one tailnaol worth of KDB.
City and no subs? Are you talking about the subreddit perhaps?
2/8 of the bench was goalkeepers??
Unironically hilarious
People are so desperate for a narrative on the Doku Trent battle when in truth Trent was fine and Doku made a few nice twist and turns without much end product.
Bore off.
Why are 12 30 games a little less energetic? Just because it’s earlier people are a bit less awake?
Something to do with it generally but this was off the back of internationals so half of them will have played a lot of football, travelled for a full day and are jet lagged
Klopp said they had one session, can’t imagine City were any different.
Lucky result for Liverpool. Incredible how Allison poor distribution didn’t cost us.
Unlucky depending on how you view that mistake influencing the match.
Saw the fracas between Nunez and Pep. Was quite serious. What exactly sparked that? Did Pep say something derogatory to Darwin?
“your wife’s in me dm’s”
Why would you assume that? Just because?
Alvarez was absolutely woeful all game. Complete luxury player who ended at least three City attacks
That incredible run from Doku for Alvarez to totally fluff it was painful
Chanting feed the scouser all match and then get shushed by the scouser equalizing. You fucking love to see it.
I’ve always wondered…
We’re socioeconomic conditions at all different between cities 20 miles apart? Seems so strange to me.
At various times both cities have thrived though Liverpool’s decline from one of the world’s foremost ports and probably England’s second most important City was directly linked to Manchester’s development. There was a historic rivalry in regards to employment and industry between the cities as well as your typical neighbours rivalry. In more recent years it’s a popular trope (perpetuated by the media both news and pop culture) that scousers are unemployed (linked to the heavy unemployment numbers in the 80s, which ironically Manchester also dealt with), thieves and overly reliant on benefits. Scousers are very proud people and moreso than most cities feel independent from England (in part due to the treatment of the city under Thatchers government, which actively avoided supporting the city) so its an easy sticking point to make light of those struggles.
All in all though Manchester has a higher child poverty rate and a slightly lower (though still top 10 in the UK) unemployment rate than Liverpool but they aren’t typically known for being poor thus don’t get abuse for it. And despite the fact that we should be showing solidarity in our struggles it’s more important in football to windup your rivals regardless of subject matter.
Football fans of both clubs have far more in common than many realise.
All the Arsenal fans getting way too excited by this result. There’s a LONG way to go and if your living off other teams results this early then you’re going to be bags of nerves come the last 10 games
You just drew eith your biggest title rivals and all you can think about is arsenal fans? Something something rent free
Lots of Liverpool fans getting too excited and already talking about the return match at Anfield too as if they’ll magically win because of how things played out today. Arsenal fans should be happy that the teams in front of them dropped points.
We are much better against City at home, I believe the one time they have beaten us at home in the league since Klopp has been here was without fans at stadiums
But it hasn’t stopped them from winning the league. My point is teams have to start taking the three points from them at the etihad if you’re gonna want to win the league.
Cmon I think we can unite with arsenal fans in our enjoyment of city dropping points
It was pragmatic from Klopp, and it paid off. I’ll take a draw at Etihad, but our team still has a long way to go.
We had a whole bunch of players who played all around the world for the last two weeks.
City… Didn’t.
A draw is a seriously great result and the performance wasn’t as bad as some are making out.
Of the available players, literally only Ederson ended up not playing a single international game I think. Not sure why Liverpool fans care so much about City players playing in international games

It’s a great result, especially as City had much greater control of the game and more/better chances
