What book have you read that wasn’t subjectively “bad” but you regrets reading all the same?
For me, Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter. The book was engaging and it kept me on my toes, but I just with I hadn’t “poisoned my head” with all the graphic gore that was in there. I years later i still think about this and how I really wish I had never read it.
Question inspired by a comment /u/PrincessOfWales made in another thread :)
We need to talk about Kevin. I could not put it down but wish I could scrub it out of my brain
I love this book. One of my favourites. But fuck me it is terrifying
I read it when I was like 3 weeks postpartum with my first child. Not a smart choice.
During pregnancy I could not get this book out of my head, despite having read it more than a decade earlier. Not good. Hope it didn’t sully your postpartum experience!
I understand. Here’s a virtual hug for you 🤗
Shit, I just picked up this book from the library. Now I’m nervous 😬
Plot aside, she’s a legitimately good writer imo
I loved that book so much i did a presentation on it in middle school. The presentation wasnt the greatest but the book is great for anyone who likes dark psychology
Middle school?? Who was your teacher, Stephen King?
She didn’t assign it; i was just a dark kid :)
I mean, as long as he doesn’t assign The Library Policeman…
That book was way better than I thought it would be
Oh same! That book stays with you.
