Hey everyone! I’m looking to buy an iPhone but I’m not sure which model I should go for. I definitely want to go for an older model (and refurbed) for the cheaper price, so I’ve been looking at the 11 or 12.

I also don’t care too much for having the state of the art features on my phone. For reference, I’m currently using a Samsung A50, and have been doing so for years, so almost anything would be an upgrade for me. In that sense, I also don’t think I’d care too much about having an OLED or LCD screen.

I basically just want a phone that can take nice pictures and isn’t slow. At the same time, I do plan on using this phone for multiple years again, so I don’t want to overlook anything and regret it later.

I’m also not opposed to going for one of the Pro models. I’m just not sure how big a difference there is between these four models (iPhone 11 vs. 11 Pro vs. iPhone 12 vs. 12 Pro) models are.

Does anyone have some advice for me?

There’s a lot of good deals for the iPhone 13 if you can find one near you. Relatively recent phone with great battery and cameras. And will last you a long time

Go for a 13 if you can afford it. It’s about 500USD or so now from what I’ve seen. 12 is a lot better than 11. I bought an 11 pro refurbished from Amazon for about 430 in 2022 April. I traded it in for 90 at the Apple Store for my 15 pro. Get the latest you can afford within reason. 15 is great Ofc but if you don’t care about a new one and are okay with refurbished 12 or 13 easy Good luck mate!!

Definitely go for the 12 Pro / Pro Max.

Tbh, i upgraded to the 15 Pro Max from the 12 Pro Max, and in my opinion, wasn’t worth it. I probably should’ve waited another year. 12 Pro did me so well the time I had it. Zero issues.

Issues with what? The 15 or the 12? None for both. I’m just saying for myself, it wasn’t worth it to upgrade to the 15 Pro Max from the 12 Pro Max. My 12 Pro took amazing photos, videos, was still snappy, ran games perfectly fine, didn’t overheat as bad as my 15.

From a day to day use, the 12 Pro Max was perfect.

Another vote for the 13 here. It’s a solid phone. The 11 is the last of the 4g phones, and the 12 is a bit of a lemon.

I would get the 12 because I love the flat sides and MagSafe.

I don’t particularly care about the OLED screen since the difference between top-class LCD and top-class OLED is a small difference to me - I own a 27" Apple Studio Display and a 65" LG OLED and I never feel like I’m missing out when I’m on my computer.

Between the two, definitely the 12. 13 if you can afford a little bit extra. The 11 is too old now, in terms of processing speed, RAM, camera quality and software support. Best not to buy a phone that will be extremely outdated in another year or so.
