So I am on the Steam Deck, using SteamOS and have ReShade (v5.9.2 - latest) working in most other game, and I can get it to work in FFXIV if I use DirectX 11 (d3d11.dll; 64-bit version).

For a while I couldn’t get it to load in DirectX 9 at all, but through some meticulous trial and error, got the loading to finally appear using the 32-bit version of the DLL (and named d3d9.dll).

But it crashes almost instantly after the loading text appears (loading shaders about 20% in).

I have also tried starting up the game with each of the different window modes (Windowed, Windowed Fullscreen, Fullscreen), but same result.

Does anyone have a sense if what the solution to this might be, experienced similar issues, or have had success using ReShade with FFXIV in Linux/SteamOS/Proton recently?

Thanks

PS. I can get FFXIV game to start up successfully using ReShade 4.9.1 (32-bit), but none of the shaders actually work (compile errors on every one I click).

PS2. The reason I am trying to get it working for DX9 is that it performs about 15-20 FPS better than DX11.

I don’t know what the problem is, and it’s probably impossible to tell without any kind of logs, but are you sure DX9 isn’t just faster because it’s missing some effects compared to DX11 (which you can maybe disable in the settings).
