I’ll go with the low-hanging fruit: Mein Kampf. I’ve read it, cover to cover. As a piece of propaganda, it’s good. As an example of good writing? Absolutely not (though I will admit I have only read it in translation). Oh, and the whole fascist, racist, and generally shitty worldview of the author that he infuses into the text. And the fact that the author is literally Hitler. You 5-star that book? You’re a Nazi. Period. And as a Jewish person, I don’t look too kindly on them.
Oh dear, absolutely. I read a few of his books when I was way too young. I did catch that the author hated women, but it wasn’t until later that I realized he was mostly writing out his seggsual fantasies under the guise of writing a novel.
On that note, John Norman and the Gor series.
I was but a young lad when I first heard of them, and the first was a fun, if very male fantasy, pulp adventure thing. Kind of like a not as good Conan the Barbarian.
The second got somewhat more questionable in content.
Everything after was just incel shit.
I kind of skimmed through a Couple of them decades ago and definitely didn’t pay enough attention to catch that bit yeah, that makes a lot to sense.
Totally makes.me wonder about the ex’s actual preferences now. I was trying them because they were his favorite books.
