(Just before anyone thinks this is damning criticism - with context it’s of course easy to determine what, hence, a bit off topic).

Ja, also, explizit: Dass China da sehr “sus” war, wie man heute sagt, steht wohl außer Frage. Und mir geht es nur um nochmal die Auswertung der gesammelten Informationen des BND, weil denen vertraue ich erstmal weitestgehend, ich würde mir nur eine weitere Interpretation/Analyse genau dieser Informationen unabhängig wünschen. (Und die läuft ja auch gerade)

Ohne jetzt zu sagen, dass das nicht durchaus auch stimmen kann - ich würde trotzdem das Expertenurteil und deren Analyse abwarten. Ich habe, sehr ehrlich zugegeben, nicht ein allzu großes Vertrauen in den BND, und Nachrichtendienste generell. Deren Erfassung von Informationen ist natürlich schlussendlich die einzige Quelle, und mag kompetent erfolgt sein - aber deren Interpretation ist oft verzerrt, weil Nachrichtendienste oft eine ganz eigene, paranoide Sorte Mensch großziehen. Das Phänomen hat man durchaus auch bei den Siloviki in Russland oder z.B. auch mit Menschen wie James Angleton im CIA während dem Kalten Krieg.

Ich habe Zweifel, dass man das Bürgergeld bei Verstößen bis auf Null kürzen kann. Da gilt es die Rechtsprechung des Bundesverfassungsgerichts zu beachten. Ansonsten ist die SPD gut beraten, sich selbstkritisch zu hinterfragen. Wir sind die Partei der Arbeit. Leute, die nicht viel Geld verdienen, haben sich gefragt: Lohnt es sich überhaupt, arbeiten zu gehen? Dabei geht es gar nicht in erster Linie um die, die sich konsequent jeder Arbeit verweigern. Das sind so viele nicht. Es gibt aber auch Empfänger von Bürgergeld, die einen Minijob haben, obwohl sie eigentlich eine sozialversicherungspflichtige Beschäftigung aufnehmen könnten. Die Vermittlung in Arbeit muss Vorrang haben. Auch als Sozialdemokrat sehe ich hier Nachbesserungsbedarf.

Auch der “Lohnt es sich überhaupt, arbeiten zu gehen?”-Punkt hängt viel mehr an Lohnniveau, Arbeitsbedingungen - und einer Unterschätzung, in meinen Augen, wie viele auch im Bürgergeldsystem temporär oder sogar permanent erwerbsunfähig sind, trotzdem aber behandelt werden, als wären sie nur unwillig/inkompetent (und das auch ins Selbstbild übernehmen, was z.T. ihre Erwerbsminderung noch verlängert).

Ist ein persönliches Thema für mich, weil ich da - noch vor Bürgergeld - auch durch den Gambit von Maßnahmen, Reha, Therapien (auf falschen Diagnosen beruhend) usw. gegangen bin, bevor Behinderung und Erwerbsminderung (auch von mir selbst) anerkannt wurden. Und dabei habe ich durchaus einige Menschen kennengelernt, denen es ähnlich ging. Mich hätte man z.B. in den Phasen, in denen es mir schlecht ging, auch mit Totalkürzungen zu nichts bewegen können, mir wurde damals schon so weit gekürzt wie es erlaubt war, hat meiner zu der Zeit akuten schweren Depression (wegen der ich sogar psychiatrisch akut behandelt wurde) und der Tatsache, dass ich weder Post öffnen noch das Haus verlassen konnte, mal schlicht gar nichts geholfen. Anstatt Kürzungen und Gängeleien bräuchte es individueller betreute Hilfsprogramme jenseits von Maßnahmen absitzen, höheren Mindestlohn, und Unterstützung vom Arbeitskampf auch in nicht-etablierten Sparten.

Dass das Bürgergeld ein Leben in Würde ermöglicht, ist ja eben auch gut für Arbeitende, um kollektiv auch im Niedriglohnsektor höhere Löhne und Bedingungen zu erkämpfen. Das ist ja die Position, die eine SPD an sich einnehmen, und vermitteln, sollte. Stattdessen hier komplette Übernahme der Argumente der Arbeitgeber, dabei noch den Sozialneid schürend (Die verdienen da unten ja zu viel, obwohl sie nicht so arbeiten wie ich). Dass deren Interessen auch im Interesse der Arbeitenden sind, ist vergessen, und da macht die SPD gerne mit.

Oof, I know many people will have an intuitive reaction of “how can you be so stupid” - but even without seeing issues, I can imagine myself on a bad day with ADHD active to mistake packaging like that, not noticing until it’s too late. Add to that, that eye drops are of course often used because of sight issues, and mistaking it gets even easier. The packaging really should change with some regulations that make it harder to mix up.

Another reason why it is so great, that the US currently has the ability to create sane and helpful regulations, with institutions funded to design them and make sure they are followed, right? /s

That is exactly the kind of freedom they are looking for, and don’t underestimate the psychology there - it feels like freedom to them, the kind of freedom that allows for injustices to prevail. I’m reminded of an anecdote of Ẑiẑek, talking to a bunch of fascists in former Yugoslavia, where they in no uncertain terms revealed, that it had been tyranny to them to not be able to be violent, rape, plunder, etc. and that the chaos of the breakup had been a liberatory event for them, psychologically.

Never assume “freedom” is something, that opposing classes and groups in general agree upon when it comes to its definition.

Well…it’s found to effective at halting the immediate effects of severe depression. In other words, it’s just enough to stop someone from going suicidal or worse. It has NOT been shown to be a good candidate for long-term use in treating general depression in anyone, in fact, there’s a larger nunber of studies correlating Ketamine abuse with mental defect than showing it useful in a medical capacity.

That, and with the resources available to someone like Elon, I am sure he has some personal doctor giving him regular recreational access if he wants to.

That being said, the article is a bit sensationalist. It shouldn’t be ruled out as a contributing factor, but Elon has basically always had that confused arsehole streak to his character.

I guess in theory, malicious actors have some options trying to target and overload all of the Fediverse, but I don’t think any are really feasible. At the point, where you could take out the (vast majority of) nodes with something like a DDOS, you already had enough resources to spare, to take out just significant parts of the overall internet altogether.

0-day exploits could of course be problematic, as they are for anything, but even then, using one on all (or then majority of) nodes simultaneously, and/or distributing a payload to all/the majority of nodes is also just so much effort. Also, chances are quite low you will get an exploit for all platform software, and if it targets something in ActivityPub, then all you can do at best is stifling federation, I guess, still allowing for local content to remain up.

Not only censorship resilient and with dynamic interlocking communities, also pretty damn resilient when it comes to overall uptime security.

Also only meaningful if they can’t buy up actual, tangible assets in the coming recessions, effectively converting their dead capital into more assets. (+ getting more state money for being “too big to fail”)

Basically, it was just that surface level observation. But in our intuitive minds, we sometimes forget, that money there doesn’t behave a medium of exchange like how we use it as common proles. In politics and finance, it’s a means of power and decisions, instead.
